Update - David Ryan Jr. had the bone marrow transplant on November 20. So far the doctors are pleased with his progress but it will be a long, hard road ahead. Please continue to keep the Ryan Family in your thoughts and prayers!
Nine-year-old David Ryan has been battling the effects of an extremely rare genetic disorder called X-linked lymphoproliferative syndrome (XLP). After months of treatment including chemotherapy and steroids, he is now in process for a bone marrow transplant. The transplant, the only cure for this disorder, involves a long inpatient stay at Johns Hopkins Hospital and then an even longer stay in the Baltimore area.
